Alpha Kargbo on Tuesday, 6th January, 2026, was dragged to court by Complainant, Messie Maheni Kamara for allegedly stealing different parts from a DAF Truck and a Mercedes-Benz truck all valued over Three Hundred Thousand New Leones whiles the said vehicles were parked in the garage at Waterloo where the Defendant works.
Kargbo is before the Principal Magistrate of the Freetown Magistrate Court No.1, Mustapha Braima Jah on two count charges of larceny, contrary to Section 2 of the Larceny Act of 1916.
The charge sheet states that Kargbo, sometimes in 2023 at the New York Garage at Waterloo, stole from one DAF Truck with registration number, ARK 660 and one Mercedes-Benz truck with registration number, AQM 644, one PACCAR PX-5, one air-intake, an exhaust system, an alternator, differential locks, an air supply system and other items all valued at Three Hundred and Eighty-Three Thousand New Leones, being properties of Messie Maheni Kamara.
Shortly after the charges were read and explained to the Defendant, he pleaded not guilty of the offense.
The Prosecutor, ASP Ibrahim Mansaray served the Defendant the necessary documents as he was unrepresented by any Counsel, for him to be able to put his case together in court after the prosecution would have closed their case.
ASP Ibrahim Mansaray afterwards sought for an adjournment from the Magistrate for him to lead in evidence, his first Prosecution Witness.
ASP Mansaray’s request was granted, the Defendant denied bail and thje matter adjourned to 13th January, 2026 for further hearing.
