Mohamed Kamara on Tuesday, 20th August, 2024 made his first appearance before Magistrate Sahr Kekura of Pademba Road Court No.1 facing charges related to forgery.
The accused is arraigned on three count charges of conspiracy to defraud, forgery of documents and altering forged documents, all under the Forgery Act of 1913. The charge sheet states that the accused, Mohamed Kamara on Friday, 26th July, 2024 at the Fourah Bay Road Branch of Zenith Bank in Freetown, with intent to defraud, forged and altered one Zenith Bank cheque number 1663692 dated 26th July, 2024 bearing the name Abu Bakarr Bangura purported to have been prepared and signed by the said Abu Bakarr Bangura knowing to be forged.
After the charges were read and explained to the accused, no plea was taken. He was unrepresented in court and so no bail application was made on his behalf. Magistrate Kekura remanded ordered that the accused be remanded at the Male Correctional Center and the matter was adjourned to Wednesday, 29th August, 2024 for hearing.
