A student, Abdul Fofanah, 20, has made his first appearance before Magistrate Hannah Bonnie of Court No.1 and is currently awaiting sentence for allegedly stealing the complainant Augustine Kamara’s TVS motorbike valued at Le8million.
The accused was charged on one count of Larceny contrary to law. The court details state that the accused on Wednesday 5th February, 2020 at John Michael Wilkinson Road in Freetown converted to his own use and benefit one TVS motorbike with registration number APR 065 valued at Le8, 600,000 (Eight Million, Six Hundred Thousand Leones) entrusted to him by Augustine Kamara for the purpose of running it as commercial motorbike.
After the charges were read, the accused pleaded guilty to the offence and also pleaded with the Magistrate that he would pay for the motorbike.
Magistrate Hannah Bonnie therefore adjourned the matter to 27th May, 2020 for sentence and the accused was denied bail.
