The country’s leading bank, Rokel Commercial Bank, has partnered with the National Olympic Committee of Sierra Leone (NOC-SLE) to join the world to observe ‘The World Cleanup Day’ with the theme: Sierra Leone Day for Cleaning Up Neighbourhood And The Needy Sites “Let’s Do It World.”
The one day cleaning exercise will commence on Saturday September 19 2020 at Howe Street in Freetown.
“This Saturday, which is the 19th September 2020, the Universe will be observing ‘The World Cleanup Day’ so ANOCA decided that all the NOCs should participate on that day. We at NOC, in Sierra Leone, have decided to clean the street that hosts our office. So for this year we will start with the upper part of Howe Street, which falls between Garrison Street and Siaka Stevens Street,” NOC’s Treasurer, Prince Swuallay, maintained.
“We have partnered with the Rokel Commercial Bank, Freetown City Council, Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and other agencies. We’ve consulted with all our neighbors, including the traders, booksellers, business houses and all at Howe Street to join hands together to ensure that the process goes well as planned. All of us will be there on Saturday morning to commence the cleaning exercise.”
