Four Docked for Murder

Four accused persons have made their first appearance in respect of murder at the high court presided over by Justice Ivan Sesay.

The accused persons, Sallieu Domic Conteh, Sheku Kamara, Santigie Bangura and Saidu Bangura were alleged to have conspired to commit a felony to wit: murdering Abu Sesay.

The matter was first tried at the magistrate court before committed to high court owing to the evidenced adduced against all four accused persons.

Twelve jurors were selected to assist the judge in the murder trial and the oath had been administered to them.

Jurors pledge to uphold the principles of justice by subscribing to the oath.

Counsel Adrian Fisher is prosecuting the four accused persons. As of now, they are not legally represented.

Considering that the matter is fresh in the hands of state counsel, he applied for adjournment date to fully abreast himself with the murder case. “ I want to peruse the file before addressing the court on the facts of the matter,” counsel fisher said.

Police charge sheet indicates that the accused persons in 2019, in the Freetown judicial district, in the Western Area of the Republic of Sierra Leone, murdered Abu Sesay.

Accused persons remanded in custody and the matter comes up on 13th February.
