Honorable Sheka Sami of Constituency 110 in Pujehun District and twenty-three (23) others, yesterday appeared again before Magistrate Hannah Bonnie of Court No.1 on the previous allegations of conspiring together to behave in a disorderly manner in their home town, Pujehun.
Testifying before the Magistrate, Ibrahim Pyne attached to the Trans National Organized Crime Unit (TOCU) in Bo, southern Sierra Leone noted that he recognized all the accused persons in the dock and recalled that on diverse dates between December 2018 and January 2019 he was on duty at the Pujehun Police station when all the accused persons were arrested and brought in by the Operations Officer, Detective Assistant Superintendent of Police (D/ASP), Jusu Eltas.
The accused, he continued, were handed over to him for further investigation.
The Police witness added that he obtained voluntary cautioned statements from the accused persons.
The statements of the accused persons were tendered by the witness to the court to form part of the evidence.
On the 24th January 2019, the witness further stated that the accused persons were charged with the offences of conspiracy, riotous conduct, disorderly behavior, throwing missiles, abusive languages, threatening languages and other offences.
The charge statements of the accused persons were also tendered in court to form part of the evidence
The particulars of offence indicated that the accused persons between 24th December 2018 and early January 2019 in Sam Malem chiefdom, Pujehum district, were found behaving in a riotous manner and were also found using abusive languages against police officers.
They were also, according to the allegations, found to have threaten police officers in order for them to commit a breach of peace.
The accused are on bail and the matter was adjourned to 26th September 2019.
