The founder and National Overseer of the Association of Full Gospel Missionaries Assemblies (AFGMA), Bishop Chris Matthew Samai has told this medium in an exclusive interview at his New Englandville headquarters in Freetown that his long time aspiration even becoming a man of God was to help others in need.
Coming from a humble background,Bishop Samai explained how he struggled to get his education and to be who is now, the reason why he insists he is working hard through the help of God to achieve that feat.
“I know I’m not going to take all these developments along with me when I die. All what I want is to leave them behind as legacy so that people will continue to benefit and that God’s name will be glorified,” he emphasized.
Bishop Samai who has been able to establish full Gospel Ministry, primary and secondary schools, vocational institute, orphanage and now contemplating opening a college, insisted: “My desire remains to assist people who are really in dire need than the purpose of making profit.” “I also have Industrial Company for the production of nonalcoholic beverage in Freetown,” Bishop further revealed.
According to the man-of-God, these developments have not only helped create job facilities for people but importantly reduce burden particularly on parents who cannot afford to pay school fees for their children.
The establishment of the schools, according to Bishop Samai is in line with the government’s effort to build human capital even though he said he has never received support from the government, organization or individual.
He said quite apart from the pupils he takes full care of, he has also employed fourteen (14) teachers since he founded the school some nine (9) years ago.
Bishop said he does not depend on others for support but rather on God who gave him the inspiration.
He said he is always happy to see especially the poor around happy.
“I also have plans for more developments and I want people to embrace it.
