Sierra Leone’s President, Julius Maada Bio has been invited by the International Criminal Court (ICC) for a meeting during the United National General Assembly.
The invitation was conveyed to the President in a letter laid hands on by this press.
“The of ICC Chief Prosecutor respectfully requests the opportunity of a bilateral meeting between Karim Kahn and President Julius Maada Bio on the margins of the United Nations General Assembly meeting,” a portion of the letter reads.

What will form the main points of the discussion is yet unknown but cannot be divorced from gross human rights abuse in Sierra Leone especially extrajudicial killings during protests and peace time.
Bio is expected to cooperate with the ICC in any investigation to be embarked upon by the court.
