In 2020… Wage Bill for Health Workers Projected at Le 345Bn.

The 2020 budget and financial statement have projected the wage bill for health workers to plummet to Le 345.1 billion.
The sector is allocated 674.2 billion representing 11% of GDP.
51.2 billion of this amount which is from the recurrent budget including 13.1 billion is allocated to support primary health care services in the country, especially around Malaria, TB, HIV/AIDS prevention and control interventions in various government facilities across the country.
The 2020 Budget has also allocated Le 5.5 billion to support Reproductive and Child Health Services, Le19.2 billion for hospital and ambulance services.
It was also disclosed that out of a total of 37.2 billion Leones allocated to the sector from the domestic capital budget, Le 70.2 billion in addition to 15 billion from recovered monies from stolen wealth by the ACC, is going towards the construction of a diagnostic health center.
International donors like the World Bank, GAVI, Global Fund, CDC, Kuwait are also expected to pump over two hundred billion Leones for the implementation of various health interventions in the country with government contributing 24.0 billion as counterpart funding.
