Justice Adrian Fisher of the High Court in Freetown has issued warrants of arrest for Major Markieu Deen-Sie, Mohamed Marrah Sheriff, Ibrahim Bangura, and Ship Global and Security Company for failing to appear in court in a civil matter involving an alleged USD 391,000 gold fraud.
The four defendants were sued by Rosaline Jones through her lawyer, Musa Pious Sesay, seeking the recovery of the said USD 391,000 allegedly paid for the purchase and delivery of 4 kilograms of gold.
According to the writ of summons, the plaintiff is asking the court to order the repayment of the money or, alternatively, the sale of the defendants’ houses, vehicles, and other assets to satisfy any judgment in her favour.
The writ states that the first defendant, Mohamed Marrah Sheriff, presented himself as a miner engaged in gold and other precious minerals and that he conducting his mining activities at Lake Sonfon in Koinadugu District, Northern Sierra Leone.
It further alleges that the second defendant, Ibrahim Bangura, claimed to be a gold exporter involved in the buying and export of gold.
The third defendant, Major Markieu Deen-Sie, is alleged to have participated throughout the transaction and claimed to be a serving officer of the Republic of Sierra Leone Armed Forces (RSLAF), stationed at Murray Town Military Barracks.
According to the writ, in October 2025, Major Deen-Sie contacted Rosaline Jones by telephone and informed her that a man had approached her with 3 kilograms of gold for sale, asking whether she was interested in purchasing it.
The plaintiff further alleges that Major Deen-Sie obtained USD 2,000 from her to begin the process of securing a license for the transaction.
The writ also states that Rosaline Jones later withdrew funds from her account at Rokel Commercial Bank to pay the agreed purchase price for the gold.
It is further alleged that Ibrahim Bangura instructed the plaintiff to travel to Dubai, claiming that the sealed gold had already been air-freighted through Ship Global and Security Company.
The plaintiff maintains that after receiving the money, the defendants continued to provide false explanations regarding the transaction, and that several of their telephone conversations were recorded.
Following several adjournments due to the defendants’ failure to appear, Justice Fisher ordered warrants of arrest for Mohamed Marrah Sheriff and Ibrahim Bangura. The Judge directed the Undersheriff, with the assistance of the Sierra Leone Police, to execute the warrants and report back to the court upon their arrest. The defendants are to be brought before the court to explain why they should not be compelled to deliver the purchased goods, and they are to be detained at the Criminal Investigation Department Headquarters without bail pending their court appearance.
In respect of Major Markieu Deen-Sie, Justice Fisher directed the Provost Marshal of the RSLAF to arrest him and produce him before the court. The matter has been adjourned to Monday, 10th of August 2026.
