In China…. Deputy Minister Showcases Sierra Leone

Deputy Minister of Finance, Dr. Patricia Laverley with a view to woo investors into the country, has sent a very strong message whilst in China about the new investment potentials of the country.
The Deputy Minister was speaking at the ongoing Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) Conference in Beijing, China.
The Deputy Finance Minister during the conference re-echoed President Bio’s commitment to developing the country by creating the enabling environment and also strengthening the bilateral relationship between the two countries.
Patricia Laverley also restored the confidence of investors to come into the country and explore the huge potentials available in the mining, agriculture, water, electricity, tourisim and education etc.


The Deputy Minister showcased President Bio’s New Direction flagship project, the Free Quality Education, which according to her, has increased the enrollment figures of pupils into schools across the country more than ever before. She called for support to the project largely due to its expensive nature.
She assured all that President Bio has provided astute leadership by fighting corruption and also legislating laws that would ease doing business in the country.
Patricia Laverley disclosed to the investors the opening up of a bid for the construction of Lungi bridge which links the Capital City of Freetown to the northern part of the country and called for more investors to come into Sierra Leone for possible investment into different areas.
The Chinese are among a number of investors that have expressed interest over the construction of the $ 2.1 billion Lungi bridge quite recently in Freetown.
