He said, government institutions including the Ministry of Lands, Housing and Infrastructure and the District Forestry Office including land owning families are part of the problem.

Fatorma  stated that there are lots of illegal operations going on and there was need for government to take prompt action by discouraging people from constructing dwelling houses at disaster prone areas.

The civil rights activist, maintained that it is now time for sensitization while also urging the need for government officials  to go in to action by enforcing the laws to avoid  a serious disaster , adding  that, the water catchment areas of the Sierra Leone Water Company  are under threat due to  stone mining ,charcoal and bush burning among other things .

He further pointed out that, it is time for the Resident Minister and other authorities to take a robust action against those building on the hill side and swamps citing the mudslide disaster that occurred in Freetown and called on all to support the campaign.
