Sierra Leone Juan Faith Jackson has picked up the third position in the women F46 Javelin throw in Africa’s largest Para Sport Competition, which kick started yesterday, Thursday 18th March in Tunisia with the Tunis 2021 World Para Athletics Grand Prix.
Around 480 athletes, from 59 countries, are participating in the Rades Olympic Athletics Stadium until Saturday with Paralympic and World Champions gold medalists galore in attendance, alongside Parapan American Games and Asian Para Games champions making their season debut.
Twenty-four athletes, from 13 countries (Burkina Faso, Central African Republic, Congo, DRC, Gabon, Gambia, Guinea-Bissau, Liberia, Palestine, Sierra Leone, Somalia, Togo and Yemen) are competing in the Grand Prix supported by the International Para Olympic Committee’s NPC Development Programme, powered by Worldwide Para Olympic partner, Toyota.
The Tunis 2021 Grand Prix also offered classification opportunities for almost 120 athletes from 44 nations.
Sierra Leone representatives, Juan Faith Jackson and Sorie Kargbo, have already participated in one event each. Jackson picking up the third position in the Women’s F46 Javelin throw. She has three more events to compete in, whilst Sorie Kargbo ended in 7th position in the Men’s Long Jump T4 our own. He has 2 more events in the 100 and 200 dashes.
