Civil Rights Activist has implicated the daughter of former President Koroma in a murder trial presided over by Magistrate Marke Ngegba of Pa Demba Road court in Freetown.
The on-going murder trial revolves around the alleged killing of Ibrahim Samura, a Journalist and proprietor of the new Age Newspaper.
The witness’ testimony during the day’s proceedings indicated that, the former President’s Daughter, Dankay Koroma was the head of the mob that allegedly murdered, Ibrahim Samura.
Led in evidence by Adrian Fisher, the witness Abu Bakarr Tarawallie told the court he recognized the accused persons in the dock and recalled 1st April 2018.
He said, on that day, he was presenting a radio discussion at the Sierra Leone Broadcasting Cooperation (SLBC) called the ‘High Way.’
During the program, the witness said, he called the deceased on a telephone conversation in respect of an issue moving around social media that he was assaulted during the March elections in 2018.
He said the deceased then confirmed to him that there was a riot at Lumley roundabout by some members of then ruling party APC. The violent group, according to the witness, was headed by the former president’s daughter Dankay Koroma as well as the former Deputy Minister of Trade and Industry, Ibrahim Mansaray and Sanusi Bruski.
The witness further testified that the deceased told him that he was taking photos of the riot scene when the group grabbed him and beat him mercilessly with a dog chain. The witness also said the deceased told him that he managed to escape and reported the matter at the Lumley police station.
The witness promised the court to bring the recorded conversation between himself and the deceased during the program for the attention of the court.
Abu-bakarr Daramy and Herbert George Williams are before the court for murder contrary to law.
The charge sheet indicates that the accused persons on 31st March, 2018 at Lumley roundabout in the Freetown Judicial district, in the Western Area of the Republic of Sierra Leone murdered Ibrahim Samura.
The matter comes up on 4th February.
