Law Court Building of Sierra Leone

A defendant has been discharged by Magistrate John Manso Fornah of Pademba Road Court No. 2 in Freetown after the prosecution informed the court that it would offer no further evidence against him, following instructions from the complainant.

The defendant appeared in court on October 22, 2026, while the complainant was absent.

During proceedings, D.S.P. Cunteh, who prosecuted the matter, informed the court that, based on instructions from the complainant, the prosecution wished to offer no further evidence against the defendant.

In his ruling, Magistrate Fornah said he had considered the prosecutor’s submission and consequently discharged the defendant.

“I hereby discharge the defendant based on the submission of the prosecutor,” the magistrate ruled.

He subsequently ordered the discharge of the defendant.
