Le50M Compensation for Wife and Survivors

The China Aid Constructing the Limkokwing Regent Road has yesterday made a compensation of Fifty Million Leones (Le50,000,000) to the wife of the deceased Desmond Boma and many other survivors.
The deceased lost his life sometimes in December while working with the company on road works due to the collapsed of a fence wall which later killed other six Laborers.
The ceremony took place at the Ministry of Works and Public Assets conference room, New England Freetown.
Minister of Works and Public Assets, Peter Bayuku Konteh stated that his Ministry and Officials of the Sierra Leone Roads Authority had championed the payment of the compensations to the affected relatives.
The minister continued that it is always his vision was to ensure that all the relatives of Sierra Leoneans who face such predicament while working are adequately compensated.
He admonished the wife of the deceased and the other survivors that this was not a legal payment but compensation. The Works Minister entreated them to now put the matter to rest.
Minister Conteh mentioned that Sierra Leone and China has a special relationship and this was why China Aid Company came on board for a diplomatic settlement to the issue.
He advised the deceased wife to open a bank account immediately so that she can better plan this money for the future of her children.
The payment of the cash by the China Aid Management formed the high point of the ceremony.
Names of the survivors include Samuel Davies, Bala Koroma, Momodu Mansaray, Alimamy Sesay, and Jonathan Moody who also received compensation based on China Aid Insurance Agreement
