Sir,
Kudos to the Nightwatch
The newspaper scene has become almost messy with all sorts of newspapers trying to endear themselves to the reader. We are now saddled by about 15 daily newspapers some of which are not worth writing home about. They are virtually vacuous. They are out in the market only to catch a few unfortunate advertisements or two.
Your newspaper, though relatively new in the market, is one of the few that gives the reader his/her money’s worth. Your presentation is unique, especially your front page which is not standard but is tailored to the news items in the paper.
The paper has color and life as well as a wide variety of reading materials, including the column on romance to which I am addicted. The editorials are also in-depth among the best.
In keeping with your policy of neutrality I enjoyed the way you portrayed the two leading parties just before the elections. Now if any of them wins the election they are not going to regard your newspaper as belonging to the other. Your paper is not one that keeps honest opinions out of the paper. The Nightwatch does not seem to be influenced by any sinister influence.
You have become school masters of the common people and your paper has been consistently good. I admire your paper’s raw guts and courage and I enjoin you to keep it up.
More grease to your elbows!
