Magistrate Bangura Grants Le1B Bail …To Sahr Ngeba

Magistrate Santigie Bangura, of the Freetown Magistrate Court No. 1, has, on Thursday 6th December, 2018,  granted one billon leones bail with one surety to forty one years old Sahr Ngeba, for allegedly committing conspiracy to defraud, which is contrary to law.

According to the bail conditions, the surety must be a property owner within the jurisdiction, and bail must be approved by the Deputy Master and Registrar.

In granting bail to the accused, the presiding Magistrate stated that, since the inception of the matter, no progress had been made on the side of the prosecution, despite several adjournments of the matter.

He also made an addendum that he will not keep the accused incarcerated but granting him bail.

The accused is arraigned before the court on two counts charges of conspiracy to defraud, which is contrary to law and obtaining money by false pretences, which is also contrary to law.

The particulars of the offences state that, Sahr Ngeba, on diverse dates between Saturday 2nd September and Wednesday 14th November 2018, conspired with unknown persons to defraud Prince Albert Musa forty five thousand United States dollars (USD45, 000)  by making false representation that he will facilitate him and twenty –four others to travel overseas for employment through Libya.

The charges further state that Sahr Ngeba, on diverse dates between 1st November and the 14th November 2018, at Syke Street, Freetown, defrauded the said complainant (Prince Albert Musa) forty five United States Dollars (45,000USD) with the pretext that he will take them overseas for employment through Libya, knowing the same to be false.

The matter was adjourned to the 12th December, 2018.
