Water Analyst Jusuf Moiwa, who works at the National Commission for Privatisation (NCP) in the Office of the President, has dragged his neighbour Kellie Marrah before Magistrate Mark Ngegba of the Pademba Road Court No. 2 for allegedly threatening to stab him to death.

Marrah appeared before the court on a count of threatening language, which is contrary to the Public Order Act of 1965.

Police allege that Kellie Marrah on February 20, 2021 at Angola Town in Goderich, Freetown threatened to stab complainant Jusuf Moiwa to death.

Led in evidence by Sergeant Bonah B., prosecution witness (PW) 1 Jusuf Moiwa said he recognised the accused as his neighbour and could recall the day in question.

He said on that fateful day, he was at home when the accused and unknown men armed with machetes violently attacked him on the piece of land leading to his house at Angola Town.

He said the accused and his men threatened to kill him and his family if he does not vacate the said land. Mr Moiwa said he then became frightened and immediately reported the matter to the Lumley Police Division in Freetown.

During cross examination by defence counsel J. T. Mansaray, he asked the witness if on the day in question he interfaced with the accused, which he answered in the affirmative.

Lawyer Mansaray suggested to him that the defendant told him that the land in question belongs to his late brother. He responded in the negative.

The defendant is on bail and the matter was adjourned to March 2, 2022.
