M'balu Turay

M’balu Turay is currently on the run as the police have declared her wanted for lesbianism. The police are on the look out, and a warrant for her arrest  remains  in force.

Police report laid hands on by this press indicated that M’balu Turay was reported in May, 2016 by her father, Pa Alhaji Turay of 5A Davies Street, Freetown for lesbian activities.

The complainant alleged against his daughter, M’balu Turay that she  involved in lesbianism acts  with young people in the community with one Zainab being her first partner  prompting the police to investigate.

M’balu Turay  faces life imprisonment as  maximum punishment if convicted of the crime.  Her lesbian life, according to her father, was influenced by the boarding home school where she stayed while attending secondary school there.

At a particular point in time, she was caught red-handed with her friend,  Zainab.  Suspect M’balu Turay was also accused of joining young girls into lesbianism, an act that did not go down well with parents.

Lesbianism, according to the laws of Sierra Leone,  is a serious crime that carries capital punishment if one is found wanting.  It is also seen as an immoral act especially in Islamic and christian homes  in Sierra Leone,  and those who take part in it are often killed or sometimes driven away from their communities.
