Mercury MD Turns Sod For Cricket Complex

The Vice Chairman of the Sierra Leone Cricket Board, Martin Michael, who also doubles as Managing Director of Sierra Leone leading Betting Company has on Friday 15 February turned the sod for the construction of a standard (300) seated spectators stand, two dugouts and the completion of the changing rooms equipped with toilets and showers at the Prince of Wales School cricket ground Kingtom, in Freetown.


The facility when completed will serve as the most suitable venue for the hosting of cricket events in the country.
Sierra is a leading country in terms of cricket in the sub region having won most of the junior, intermediate and senior cricket competitions but the country lacks a decent stadium to host and play the game.
The intervention of Mr. Martin Michael, Sierra Leone’s leading and revered philanthropist was seen as a step in the right direction by Cricket stakeholders and Prince of Wales School authorities at Kingtom.


Mr. Martin, Managing Director, Mercury International betting company is a household name when it comes to philanthropy and they have supported an all round the clock efforts towards developing the media, music and entertainment, sports, health and educational endeavors in the country.
Mercury International remains the largest donors to President Bio’s Free and Quality Education after having pledged over 12 Billion Leones towards the construction of schools across the country in the next five years.
