The Amputee Camps, situated at Mattru on the Rail in Tikonko Chiefdom, Bo District, southern Sierra Leone, were a scene of sorrow and bitter cries in all the seven (7) camps, during the last three days lockdown National Commission for Social Action (NaCSA) donation, which left many amputees running tears and feeling of injustice in that part of the country.
Peter Korgow, commonly referred to as Peter Squanto, intimated this press that he did not benefit from any of the donation since the COVIDD-19 outbreak in the country, adding that, most of the time when he is away in Bo to cater for his survival, thieves normally break into his house when he was away in Bo for similar complain in the Police, which coincided with the NaCSA two hundred and fifty thousand Leones (Le250, 000) donations per household.
Mr. Joseph Musa who was contacted as an Acting Town Chief admitted that he only got as hearsay about the donation and not formally and several complains have reached them from aggrieved amputees and are planning to call upon the executives concerned for further investigation.
The Town Chief reiterates that, many a time, the Paramount Chief has told them that they do not have any right to hold meetings of any nature without informing the authorities in the town.
However, sources say, the executive of the Amputees Association there must have connived with some NaCSA personnel to defraud others.
