Nurse Docked For Killing Husband

The third prosecution witness (PW3) in the murder matter of N’tuma Mansaray, a former staff nurse at the Lumley Health Centre who was alleged to have killed her husband, Mamoud Mansaray, who also was a medical staff at 34 Hospital, yesterday testified before Magistrate Mark Ngegba of Pademba Road Court No. 2 in Freetown.

Testifying on oath, the PW3, Inspector Mohammed Kamara recalled that on Thursday 22nd April 2020, he received a file from Crime Officer Detective Assistant Superintendent of Police Abubakarr Kargbo from the Congo Cross Division together with some exhibits.

He said he treated the knife, orange dress and window curtain with blood stain as exhibits in respect of the matter by handing them over to the Exhibit Clerk.

The PW3 said on Friday 23rd  April 2020, himself and other detective officers together with some family members of the deceased were present when the autopsy was conducted by the Consultant Pathologist, Dr. Simeon Owizz Koroma at the Connaught Teaching Hospital mortuary before the body was handed over to the deceased’s relatives for burial.

The witness said on 18th April 2020, he charged the accused with the offence of murder.

At the end of his examination in chief led by Sergeant 10980 Hannah Newstead, Defence Counsel IP Mamie cross-examined the witness and the matter was adjourned to 14th July, 2020.

The accused is charge with one count of murder contrary to law. The indictment indicated that the accused on Monday 30th March, 2020 at Murray Town Military Barack unlawfully murdered Mamoud Mansaray
