Jihad Swaid
Jihad Swaid has responded to local media reports that he was involved in buying the Sierra Leone Produce Marketing Board property at Wellington and Cline Town respectively and also the Mahera Ferry.
The Lebanese Businessman revealed that he has not done any business transactions relating to either the Mahera Ferry or the Palm Kernel Refinery as recently publicized by a local press media. He referred to the accusations as completely baseless, unfounded and a calculated attempt to make him look bad in the face of the new administration.
Investigations conducted by sources very close to Jihad have further uncovered that Mahera Ferry is currently being owned and operated by one Mr. Labby, while the Palm Kernel Refinery was bought by a group of indigenous Sierra Leoneans some 15 years ago during the early days of former President Tejan Kabba’s tenure.
It will be recalled that Jihad Swaid has received sustained media attacks in the past weeks for allegedly being involved in the dubious buying of the SLPMB property and the Mahera ferry for pittance. The reports also say he was aided by the former NCP Chairman, Mr. Abu Bangura.
The Lebanese man, who is currently out of the country on a business trip, has promised to clear the air when he returns back to the country in due course.
