News reaching nightwatch from the site of SL Mining in Lunsar states that, the company recorded a fatal death at its operations site in Lunsar last week involving an Irish foreign national John Tar, Head of Security working for the company.
His body has been reported flown out of the country for funeral rights. The safety standards of the company has under very strong scrutiny as information leading to the death is still very sketchy. The multinational company has failed to made the death and its causes public as a way of safeguarding their commitment to workplace safety and international best practice. The company has a huge number of nationals working for them and many have complained that the safety standards have been compromised at the company.
Attempts to get the side of the company has proved futile as we go to press. We have however mounted a very robust investigation as to the circumstances leading to the death and also whether the company met all the procedures relating to the investigations of such crimes with the view to bring you full details in our next edition
