ORANGE MEA UNVEILS 2025 CSR REPORT -BACKS AFRICA’S SUSTAINABLE GROWTH

Orange Middle East and Africa (OMEA) has released its 2025 Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Report, titled “Building the Future Together,” highlighting the company’s continued investment in digital inclusion, resilient infrastructure and sustainable development across Africa and the Middle East.

The report outlines how Orange is leveraging its telecommunications infrastructure, digital financial services, renewable energy initiatives and employee engagement to accelerate inclusive economic growth in the 18 countries where it operates. According to the company, these efforts are aimed at improving the lives of millions of people while supporting long-term social, economic and environmental progress.

Orange stated that the report is built around three strategic pillars: resilient infrastructure, digital technology as a driver of inclusion, and responsible governance. Through measurable impact indicators and real-life success stories, the company demonstrates how its investments are helping communities adapt to the digital age while promoting sustainability.

Among the major achievements highlighted is the expansion of network coverage, the strengthening of cybersecurity through artificial intelligence, increased investment in renewable energy and the adoption of circular economy practices for digital equipment. These initiatives are designed to make telecommunications infrastructure more secure, efficient and environmentally sustainable.

The report also emphasizes Orange’s efforts to expand access to digital and financial services through platforms such as Max it, Orange Money, Orange Bank Africa, Orange Energies, and affordable Sanza smartphones. These services aim to improve financial inclusion and make digital technology accessible to underserved communities across the region.

A key highlight is the continued expansion of Orange Digital Centers, now operating in 16 countries. The centres have already supported approximately 1.4 million beneficiaries through digital skills training, entrepreneurship development, startup incubation and access to funding. Orange has set an ambitious target of training three million young people by 2030 to enhance employability and foster innovation across Africa and the Middle East.

Beyond technology, the report underscores Orange’s commitment to responsible corporate governance, emphasizing ethics, transparency, diversity and employee engagement. Through its Orange Engage for Change programme, employees participate in social and environmental initiatives that contribute to community development throughout the region.

Commenting on the report, Orange Middle East and Africa Chief Executive Officer, Yasser Shaker, said the company’s success is measured not only by the quality of its networks but also by the positive impact it creates for people.

He noted that investments in resilient infrastructure, inclusive digital services and human talent are laying the foundation for sustainable growth across Africa and the Middle East.

Also speaking, Asma Ennaifer, Executive Director for CSR, Orange Digital Center and Communications at Orange Middle East and Africa, said technology should always serve people. She explained that Orange’s programmes in digital skills, entrepreneurship, financial inclusion and renewable energy are creating opportunities while helping build more resilient and inclusive societies.
