One of the leading GSM operator in Sierra Leone, Orange, has on Tuesday 5th June 2018 donated bags of rice, sugar, onion and other food items to the Jammatu-Alfathe mosque, situated at Edward Lane, off Campbell Street in Freetown.
During the donation event Desmond Spain Manager Corporate/Public Affairs Orange Sierra Leone introduced members of his department present at the ceremony.
He said the donation is part of their Corporate Social responsibility to various communities in the country.
According to him: “it is a tradition at Orange Sierra Leone that every Ramadan period we as an organization can demonstrate love by identifying with some of our customers in Sierra Leone.”
He disclosed that they have done similar donations in Goderich and will end at Kono District before the end of the Ramadan.
He stated that they are making these gestures purposely for the needy people who are engaged in fasting and challenged with the means of providing food to break fast.
Mr. Paine later handed over the items to the Imam of the Jammatu-Alfathe mosque and in the presence of some members of the Jamaat at Edward lane in Freetown.
He implored the Jamaat to pray for the sustenance of the operations of Orange in Sierra Leone.
The Imam Sheik Mohammed Lamin Kamara thanked the Corporate team for the donation and stated that this is not the first time that they are receiving such donations from Orange Sierra Leone.
The Imam prayed that the Almighty Allah continues to bless Orange Sierra for remembering them at this time of Ramadan by providing food items to support their Muslim brothers and sisters.
