Orange Sierra Leone Hosts ASC Sonatel of Senegal

Orange has, on Friday, hosted a delegation from their counterparts company in Senegal, ASC Sonatel.
The delegation comprising of President of the Sports Association of Sonatel, Senegal and Vice President of the Women’s Association and team, are in the country on a three-day working visit to exchange ideas with their counterparts, play a football match and also visit various touristic sites in the country.
Head of HR Orange Sierra Leone, Jestina Betts while welcoming the delegation at the Company’s headquarters at Wilberforce, expressed the joy and happiness of the staff and management of Orange Sierra Leone in receiving their counterparts from Senegal.
She thanked the organizers of the trip for the relentless work they had put into the preparations to make the trip a success.
Acting Chief Executive Officer, Orange Sierra Leone, Haffie Haffner while welcoming the Sonatel delegation to Sierra Leone on behalf of Madam Aminata Kane, CEO Orange Sierra Leone and the senior management, noted that they are proud to receive their counterparts from Senegal and called on her staff members to network and interact properly with the visiting team with the view to learn from them, as well as exchange ideas.
She recounted that Sierra Leone is a beautiful country with warm and receptive people and that their presence in the country for the next three days will open up their minds to wipe away the perceptions about the country which, according to her, has always been around mudslide, Ebola and war etc.
Haffie Haffner added that the country is on a rebranding direction and that their counterparts from Senegal would have an opportunity to see and feel the beautiful mountains, beaches, weather and other lovely sites while in the country.
Coumba Diagne Diouf, Debt Collector Manager at ASC Sonatel and also doubles as the Vice President for the Sonatel Women’s Association during her speech, thanked Orange Sierra Leone for the warmth welcome accorded their delegation.
She continued that they at Sonatel have a Women’s Association and they also want that to be replicated in Orange Sierra Leone.
Madam Diouf stated that the world will be better with equality.
Ibrahim Seyie who is Procurement Manager at Sonatel and also doubles as President of the Sonatel Sports Association, extended greetings from the Sonatel Sports Association with ASC Sonatel and noted that Sonatel has over five hundred workers.
Mr. Seyie further recounted that sports is very pivotal for them at Sonatel.
He disclosed that their delegation is visiting all the African countries where Orange has Franchise and that Orange Sierra Leone is lucky to be the country with the first point of call.
The visiting delegation presented gifts to the Ag.CEO on behalf of the CEO, Aminata Kane, HR Director, Jestina Betts and the all women Directors at Orange Sierra Leone.
A pair of football jerseys and other T-shirts were donated to Orange Sierra Leone.
In turn, Acting CEO, Haffie Haffner, presented souvenirs to the visiting delegation showing a sign of appreciation and welcome.
The visiting team was on Saturday taken on hiking to Fourah Bay College and other communities.
The climax of the day was a football match between the visitors and Orange Sierra Leone and football match between the visitors.
To wrap-up the visit, the delegation was also taken round the beautiful beaches in the country and later treated to a barbecue in the evening. The delegation is expected to leave this morning.
