Orange Sierra Leone the country’s leading telecommunications operator has patronized Muslims at the Makeni Central Mosque, Northern Sierra Leone on Friday the 25th May,2018 by donating food items such as bags of Rice, Powedred milk, Tomato paste ,Sugar, Oil and Onions to the Muslim Jamaat .
Making the Presentation on behalf of the Chief Executive Officer, Senior management and staff of Orange Sierra Leone, Miss Haffie Haffner, Legal, Regulatory and Compliance Executive of the company told the Muslim Jamaat and the Chief Imam ,Makeni Central Mosque just after jumah prayers that it has always been a tradition to them at Orange,Sierra Leone to associate themselves with their Muslim customers during the month of Ramadan by providing them with Iftah donations in the form of food items .
She noted that their company is not just in the country to make money but also cares and gives back to their customers whenever the need arises stating that these donations are done across the country where they are operating.
Miss Haffie Haffner, urged the Jamaat to remember Orange Sierra Leone in their prayers so that the business would grow from strength to strength.
The climax was the symbolic handing over of the items to the Chief Imam of the Central mosque Alhaji Mohamed Lamin Koroma and other senior members of the Central Mosque Jamaat. The Legal, Regulatory and Compliance Executive was accompanied by the Area Sales Manager North, Abdulia Dizzo Kamara, Desmond Spaine, Manager Corporate Affairs and Communications and Senior members of Staff .
Receiving the items on behalf of the Jamaat, the Chief Imam thanked the management of Orange, Sierra Leone for the donation at this period of Ramadan which he noted is a period of sharing. He noted that it is a quranic commandment to always give to Muslims during the period of fasting.
The Chief Imam pleaded with the senior executives present to continue with these donations in subsequent Ramadan periods noting that it should not only be a one off practice whilst praying to Allah for the protection and growth of their business in the country. Prayers were later offered by the congregation for the sustainance, development and growth of the company in Sierra Leone.
