In its drive towards digitalisation, Orange Sierra Leone (OSL) has donated computers to Rogbaneh Secondary School in Makeni city in the Northeast region.
The donation which took place on 21st July, 2023 was witnessed by key stakeholders including former Mayor of Makeni City Council, Sunkarie Kabba. Teachers as well as pupils were extremely happy for the precious gifts for which they expressed a blanket nod of thanks to Sierra Leone’s leading telecoms company.
It is hoped that the computers will enhance the pupils’ digital knowledge which is highly relevant to national development in the 21st century. The Makeni Girls School is the latest among a good number of secondary schools to benefit from OSL.
The company has established several computer labs in various girls schools in Sierra Leone. The Annie Walsh Memorial Secondary School in Freetown as well as the Forum for African Women Educationalists (FAWE) in Waterloo in Western Rural district also have functional computer labs that have enhanced the pupils’computer skills.
The company also runs an ICT school where several pupils have acquired various computer skills that have earned them jobs in the public and private sector with OSL being their leading employer.
Six years of existence in Sierra Leone’s telecoms industry, digitalisation has always been at the core of OSL’s operations. The company is set to do more as it taps business potentials in the telecommunications industry.
