Mohamed Ibrahim Jalloh of the Sierra Leone Teachers Union has cleared the air over the claim by the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) that they have arrested individuals in the premise of Hotel 5/10 during the evening hours of Wednesday 10th April, 2019.
The respective individuals were allegedly engaged in a clandestine meeting at one of the Hotel rooms. They had an intention to foil the ongoing investigation by the ACC of overpricing by officials of the SLRA.
Mr. Jalloh told this medium that one Kitiatu Alghali had booked a room at Hotel 5/10 on the 8th April, 2019 for one Alice Sesay, who was reportedly expected to arrive from the Unites States of America. However, Kitiatu Alghali, her husband and one unknown person had surfaced at the Hotel two days after the said booking to assess the condition of the room allocated to the guest.
He continued that the supervisor of the hotel opened Room U201 for Kitiatu and her husband to inspect it. They both later left to bring other materials at the Hotel. Eventually personnel of the Criminal Investigations of the Sierra Leone Police arrived and arrested all three individuals. The room, which three of the individuals (Kitiatu, her husband and the other unknown person) occupied, was not closed.
The management of Hotel 5/10 is however amazed that the ACC would inform the general public that the individuals arrested at the Hotel premises were holding clandestine meetings.
The management distances itself from such allegations and notes that Kitiatu is a regular customer of the Hotel and that they are not aware that she and her husband were being investigated and wanted by the ACC.
