Information from corridors of power has intimated this medium that State House in deep fear due to the pending European Union 2023 election report.
The United States, according to government sources, has refused to acknowledge the credibility of the elections and they have even gone as far as imposing travel bans on those who conspired to steal the people’s votes.
The US and international organisations have continued their request to ECSL (Electoral Commission for Sierra Leone) to publish the disaggregated election results by polling stations.
A request that is still not considered by ECSL, a challenge to the world. President Bio while in the United States for the UNGA (United Nations General Assembly) accused the US of interfering with the June-24 election.
Bio said he was called upon by the US to stop the announcement of the result amid completion of the electoral processes. The allegations have put Bio in the bad books of the international community who have held back their funds until the real results are published.
As the election disagreement lingers, Sierra Leoneans continue to call on the international community to discipline elections riggers who they see as coup plotters.
According to the citizens, there is no difference between military coups and that of civilian coups. ECOWAS, EU, UK and US and other local bodies including National Elections Watch (NEW) see the election as fraudulent as it does not reflect the will of the people.
The opposition members claimed that their party agents were prevented from participating in the polling day especially in the South-East regions of the country.
The act deprived them of them of accurate information from the centres. The international observers said the election was marred with irregularities and inconsistencies with the tabulation process and did not reflect the will of Sierra Leoneans who are now dying of hunger.
Reports stated that upon all such grave allegations against the ECSL and government, the SLPP government has been reportedly terrified on what will be the outcome of the report.
Some say EU’s pending report may proffer recommendations for rerun elections as the outcome of the June 24 result will sabotage democracy if not reversed.
Citizens say those who use their power to steal the will of the electorate should not go unchecked by EU, UK and US including ECOWAS because election riggers should be considered as coup plotters against civilians which is a major crime.
