Security Guard, employed by Pendrax Security Company, Saffa Musa, has been dragged to court by one Mohamed Conteh for allegedly duping him over one million Leones of Africell Money.
The accused, Saffa Musa, on Wednesday 26 August 2020, made his first appearance before Magistrate Hannah Bonnie of Court No.1, on a count of obtaining money by false pretenses, which is contrary to Section 32 (1) of the Larceny Act of 1916.
According to the indictment, the accused, Saffa Musa, on Saturday 8 August 2020, at No. 47 Kissy Road Freetown, with intent to defraud, obtained one million six hundred thousand Leones from Mohamed Conteh by falsely pretending that he had the said sum in his Africell Money Account, which is known to be false.
The accused was not represented. There was no bail application made, and was remanded in custody until the 7 September 2020. Inspector I.G. Fofanah is prosecuting the matter.
In another development, Zachariah Kamara also made his first appearance before Magistrate Hannah Bonnie of Court No.1 on Wednesday 26 August 2020, on two counts of obtaining money by false pretenses, which is contrary to Section 32 (1) of the Larceny Act of 1916.
According to the indictment, Zachariah Kamara, on Tuesday 11 August 2020, at No.37 Mends Street in Freetown, obtained thirty million Leones from Samuel Momodu Konteh by falsely pretending that he had one Toyota 4 Runner Sport edition vehicle for sale, which he knows to be false.
The indictment continues that the accused, on the same day and place, obtained twenty million Leones from Arnold Musa Williams, by falsely pretending that he had one Toyota Matrix vehicle for sale, which is known to be false.
No bail was granted the accused, and was remanded in custody until the 7 September 2020. ASP Ibrahim Sheik Mansaray is prosecuting the matter.
