Perverting the course of justice… Two await sentence

By Janet Sesay
Two accused persons, Dalfon Adenuya and Sheku Freeman are presently awaiting sentence by Magistrate Marke Ngegba of Magistrate Court No.2.
The accused persons were dragged to court for being sureties for one Idrissa Conteh who was charged with the offence of sexual penetration at the Lumley Police Station and failed to produce him when needed by the Magistrate Court.
They were before Magistrate Ngegba on one count of conspiracy to pervert the course of justice, contrary to law.
Both accused persons pleaded guilty of the offence and pleaded with the magistrate to tamper justice with mercy.
The accused persons were un-represented in court and so no bail application was made.
Magistrate Marke Ngegba did not grant the accused persons bail and the matter was adjourned to the 17th September 2019 for sentencing.
