Sources close to the People’s Movement for Democratic Change (PMDC) party Headquarters at Prince Street, Off Circular Road, Freetown states that many of their ardent members and supporters are currently contemplating going back to their former political party, the Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP) as a result of the blunder by their leader Charles Francis Margai that resulted to his sacking as Attorney General and Minister of Justice.
‘’We are tired of dedicating our resources, time, energy and support for an individual that is in the habit of falling apart with leaders of the day just because of stubbornness’’ a constituency chairman whispered to this medium on the basis of anonymity.
The constituency chairman mentioned that based on Charles Francis Margai’s refusal to go by the dictates of others, many PMDC supporters failed to benefit from the then All People’s Congress Party (APC) Government thereby giving PMDC difficulties in competing for vacancies in ministries, departments and agencies for the past decade.
Based on his attitude, the PMDC has also lost another opportunity to resurface in the political limelight in President Bio’s government of new direction which is similar to the PMDC ideology of positive change, he stressed.
PMDC District Chairlady (name upheld ) said they are walking away from the party because the PMDC will die a natural death before the 2023 elections as the hope of many is being shattered by the recent decision of President Bio to sack the PMDC leader.
During the past years, Charles Margai has told members and supporters at a general meeting that the party is about to bring in investors that will provide employment opportunities for party loyalists nationwide which has not been realized, she noted.
