Detective Police Constable, 14969 Mohamed Lamin Kamara attached to the Criminal Investigations Department, Kissy Police Division has testified in an ongoing matter involving Albert Cofoy charged with the offences of sacrilege and larceny by servant.
The accused has made his fourth appearance before Magistrate Alhaji Suliaman Koroma at the Ross Road Magistrate Court No. 1.
The witness told the court that he recognized the complainant Mohamed Conteh as well as the accused and could also recalled on the 14th November 2019, while at the Kissy Police Station when a Police case and enquiring file from the Grafton Police Post involving sacrilege was transferred to the Kissy Police Station.The matter was later allocated to me for further investigation.
The witness recounted that himself together with Scene of Crime Officer SOCO Kamara AB, obtained a voluntary caution statement from the accused.
The witness rounded up his testimony by intimating the court that on 22nd November 2019, he had charged the accused with the offence of larceny by servant largely because he was an employee of the United Methodist Church Grafton.
The police charge sheet indicated that Albert Cofoy, on the 14th November 2019, at the United Methodist Church Grafton did steal one Honda Generator Valued at six Million Five hundred thousand ( Le 6,500,00) an amplify valued one million five hundred thousand Leones (Le 1,5000), property of United Methodist Church Grafton.
The accused is on bail and the matter was adjourned to 3rd March 2020.
