Police OSD Officer Arraigned for Larceny

A Police officer who identified himself as Alimamy Turay on Friday 27th September, 2019 made his first appearance before Magistrate Hannah Bonnie of Freetown Magistrate Court No.1 for allegedly supplying guns and ammunition to armed robbers to conduct different robberies in the country.
Led in testimony by State Counsel, Adrain Fisher, D.P.C Issa Sesay attached at the Major Incident Unit at C.I.D. headquarter told the court that he recognize the accused person and could recall 25th September, 2019.
The accused person stands trial on twelve counts ranging from conspiracy to commit a felony to wit robbery with aggravation, accessory before the fact to robbery with aggravation, accessory before the fact to possession of small arms without license and misconduct in a public office, contrary to the laws of Sierra Leone.
The court details states that the accused being a police officer in charge of the amoury store at OSD headquarters on 5th February, 2017 at Kerry Town in Freetown conspired together with other persons unknown to commit a felony to wit robbery with aggravation.
The charged sheet furthered that the accused person on the same day at the same place did counsel, procure and command Mohammed Kanu and Santigie Bundu to rob Mahmud Sinc one iphone 6+ valued at seven million, five hundred thousand Leones(Le 7,500,000), one black smart phone valued at two million Leones (Le2,000,000), one sliver apple laptop valued at twenty million Leones (Le20,000,000) and other properties all to the tune of eighty-one million, six hundred and fifty thousand Leones (Le81,650,000).
Also the accused person commanded Mohammed Kanu and Santigie Bundu to possess small arms to wit a riffle with serial number UB60A6821 and a magazine containing ammunition without license to rob people.
The accused person was denied bail by the magistrate and the matter was adjourned to 4th October 2019.
