Must read

Police sources from Magburaka Police Division have confirmed to Nightwatch that Detective Police Sergeant 7846 Nathaniel Lamin, attached at the Criminal Investigation Department, Magburaka Police Division, has been kidnapped some 72 hours allegedly by some village young men from Mamanoh village, Tonkolili District.

The Police Detective Sergeant, our sources say, was on the 17th March,2020 involved together with other Police Officers in an official duty when a group of young people from Mamanoh village, Mayossoh section, Kholifa – Mamunta Mayossoh chiefdom, in Tonkolili district, northern province, allegedly attacked them.

The teams of Police officers were at the Mamanoh village to execute arrest on some residents of the said village, who refused to turn up themselves at the Magburaka Police Station after several invitations have been made to them bordering on allegations by some Fullah herdsmen at the area.

The missing officer, our sources added, had together with other colleagues went to the said village to execute arrest, following an order from the crime officer of the Magburaka Police Station.

The Police officers met very stiff resistance upon their arrival at the village, as villagers were pelting stones from everywhere. The police team had no option but to leave and escape from the violence from the villagers. They made no arrest and did not realize that one of theirs, Sgt. Lamin, was missing

Several search methods to get the missing officer back have proved unsuccessful. The entire Mamanoh village is left with not even a single living thing, as residents were reported to have been on the run in bushes and nearby villages.

Police and family sources have confirmed the incidence to be true and have disclosed that they are both observing searches to look for the missing Police Detective Sergeant.

Many are questioning how such an operation would have been conducted by the Police without the officers reasonably arming themselves against such eventualities.
