Police Testifies In Murder Matter

Detective Police Constable 1118 Kamara George attached to the Criminal Investigation Departments (CID) Waterloo Police Station has testified in the on-going matter involving one Posseh Koroma, charged with the offence of murder.
The accused Posseh Koroma is standing trial at the Ross Road Magistrate Court No. 1 presided over by Magistrate Alhaji Suliaman Koroma.
The incident reportedly took place on Sunday the 5th January 2020, at Deep Eye Water outside Freetown.
The witness told the court that he recognized the complainant Abdul Koroma as well as the accused Posseh Koroma the mother to the deceased Isata Koroma.
He continued his testimony by further disclosing that on the 5th January 2020, while on duty at the Waterloo Police Station, the complainant Abdul Koroma, reported a case of murder to the station. The matter he noted was assigned to him further investigation.
The witness further recounted that he obtained statements from the complainant Abdul Koroma and his witness respectively and that a team of police officers from Waterloo Police Division visited the scene of crime at Deep Eye Water in Waterloo and that the Scene of Crime Officer took photographs at the scene
The witness further added that the accused was apprehended and brought into the police station and later interrogated.
The witness concluded his testimony that on the 22nd January 2020 the corpse was conveyed to the Connaught Hospital in Freetown, where an autopsy was conducted by the Government pathologist Dr. Simeon Owizz Koroma.
The corpse according to him was later handed over to the complainant Abdul Koroma for burial.
The police charge sheet indicated that, Posseh Koroma on Sunday 5th January 2020, at Deep- Eye Water, outside Freetown in the Rural District of the Republic of Sierra Leone, murdered two years eight months child Isata Koroma.
He was refused bail and the accused was remanded.The matter was adjourned to 4th March 2020.
