The recent moves by the Electricity Distribution Supply Authority (EDSA), Black Hall Road power house to start depriving customers their rights to twenty four hours power supply can be viewed as deliberate and politically motivated.
What I want to emphasize here is that the station is a national asset and all individuals working in that sub-station are being paid from the country’s consolidated funds and not from the pockets of any political parties. Therefore it is expected that national interest must always supersede political or self interest.
Information floating in the air has it that front liners at the Black Hall sub-station have started alternating the supply of power for domestic use since the then governing All People’s Congress Party (APC) took the political back seat thereby deliberately depriving customers that have bought their credit the opportunity to use power at will.
It could also be interpreted that management of the Black Hall Road sub-station want to use power supply to sabotage the new government that is yet to officially take over the reins of government.
Because international report once rated the country’s capital Freetown as the darkness city under the sun during the SLPP regime, the Black Hall sub-station wants detractors of the incumbent Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP) to believe that the inconsistency in power supply is as a result of the coming of President Maada Bio government, hence the start of another blackout wahala.
Months before the 2018 political campaign commenced, residents of the east were enjoying an uninterrupted power supply, but this recent twist of things is a pointer that there is a shift of the goal post.
Why the shift? Because a toad does not run in the daylight for nothing, something must be alarming. Therefore members, supporters and sympathizers of the then government currently working at the Black Hall Road power station to take heart and accept defeat and perform your national task with due diligence for the benefit of Mama Salone.
By the look of things, the transitional committee, set up by President Bio to look into ministries, departments and agencies, is going to let many cats out of the bag that will discredit MDAs and bring to realization many realities that will put Sierra Leoneans on a better footing to judge whether the APC Party is a grassroots or grasshopper party.
