Prophetess Kadie Foundation is a Charity Foundation that helps less privileged children in the country especially orphans and those living in the streets.

Prophetess Grace Kadie Bangura the owner of the Foundation is a Sierra Leonean with passion to help the poor and needy in the society with particular emphasis on children. The Foundation is officially registered and it is operating under the Salvation in Christ Ministry and has been in operation since 2001.

In an exclusive interview, the Chief Executive Officer of the Foundation, Prophetess Kadie said the aim and objectives of the Foundation includes rendering help to needy people in society particularly orphaned children and those abandoned on the streets. She said her aim is to bring children out from the street render them help, give them shelter, food, and clothing and also give them good, better and a bright future.

Madam Kadie further informed that what inspired her to set up the Foundation stems from her desire to fulfill her late mother’s wish because she was passionate in helping children who are suffering in their neighbourhood.

She further that she also decided to set up the Foundation because of her personal passion for helping vulnerable children, noting that when she was growing up as a child, she experienced suffering and did not want other children to go through her similar experience.

She disclosed that setting up the Foundation was an idea proposed by her late mother because for her helping children in need was a natural call for her, and revealed that her mother used to render unsolicited assistance to street children by providing them food and shelter. Madam Kadie furthered that during her mother’s life time living in Tombo village, whenever there was a charitable distribution, she would be the one championing the cause of street children as she will go round the community gathering and bringing to the distribution centre so they can benefit.

Madam Kadie said she is currently operating the Foundation with her sons and daughters who are responsible for identifying vulnerable children that are benefiting from her charity.

She however pointed out that since the Foundation started its operations, it has not received a single cent from any donor organization to fund her activities. She went on to disclose that even in the midst of such financial constraints, the Foundation has been able to secure five-town lots of land at the Geima Layout in the Bo Municipality for the purpose of constructing an orphanage and a school for vulnerable and less privileged children.

Prophetess Kadie is therefore passionately appealing for financial support both in cash and in-kind towards this project.

“I am appealing to donors-local and international; humanitarian organizations-local and international; philanthropists-local and international to come to the aid of our Foundation to ensure we achieve this laudable project we have committed ourselves to that is aimed at providing care and ensuring a better future for needy and vulnerable children in this part of the country and across the country generally. We intend to build a care and education system that will cater for every vulnerable and needy child in the country as long as we can reach them,” Prophetess Kadie appealed, noting that nothing is small towards this project for as long as they can complete it within the target timeframe.
