According to the witness, on the aforesaid date, at around 8:00p.m. or thereabout, he was at his backyard when he heard the accused and the deceased quarreling and he went to the scene and advised them to leave his compound.

After a few seconds, the witness said, he left the scene and went into his bedroom to change the gorgeous attire he was wearing in order to stop the accused and the deceased from fighting. He said whilst he was in his bedroom, he heard the deceased exclaiming that the accused had stabbed him.

The witness said by the time he rushed to the scene, the accused had already fled away, adding that he attempted to run after him but later had a change of mind because the accused was armed with a knife.

He said himself and one Sahr Kabia took the deceased to the Grafton Police Division and he immediately contacted the Grafton Chairman, Mr. Kamara and explained the incident to him.

The witness concluded that the accused was arrested at Jui Junction and was later handed over to the police at the Grafton Police Division where statement was obtained from him.

The police charge sheet indicated that Mohamed Barrie on Monday 16th December, 2019 stabbed Mohamed Adekallay to death at Grafton on the outskirts of Freetown.
