Righteous Titus

Must read

By Our News Analyst
If you are thinking of the biblical Titus you have been led on a false scent. This one is the secular Titus Boyle –Thompson an unrepentant journalist who expresses his righteous umbrage with candor. His recurrent theme can be encapsulated in the statement “The APC had no business losing an election over which it had all the levers of power to manipulate.” Not expectedly some members would think that he is going off course. Taking criticism up to leadership level is like kicking against the pricks regardless of the wounds.
The broadsides of Titus include his alleged buckling under international pressure and electoral fraud that saw most of the votes in the APC strongholds not being counted, an over counting and misrepresentation of results in the South and East and above all a tallying system that provided this country with total of 103% of the votes cast… In making these unsubstantiated allegations, the righteous Titus has declared himself as virtually the trusted Chief Electoral Commissioner. In taking this stance the righteous Titus has dishonestly glossed over what is known as THE POWER OF INCUMBENCY. Were the APC under the boomerang effect of their own occult powers that they employed for victory? Who gagged the APC at the time and prevented them from blowing the whistle? Titus lef! The disappointed Titus has been suffering from horrible imaginings that will continue to haunt him tell 2023 or after.
He has a withering blast for his culpable Ernest Koroma. In his article titled “The Guns are turned on its own people” he wrote: “This situation of delirium that engulfed the party has now been fuelled by the announcement of its Chairman and Leader on the national and international television during an interview with Umaru Fofanah the BBC stringer for Sierra Leone that he would retire from active party politics by the end of three months after casting his votes during the second round Presidential polls, a promise he has so far failed to keep.” Here he has the courage of his convictions to hold his erstwhile leader to account. Few of his comrades would dare do the same all because of the sycophancy that has kept the APC in a fluid state.
In line with the caption of his article he wrote, inter alia, “The call for former President Koroma to retire should not become a reason for attacking those who make it. It is their right to be entitled to their own beliefs and for them to be able to accentuate their own prescriptions on how the Party should move forwards without fear of retribution or otherwise persecution.” He virtually calls for an internal Commission of Inquiry. Den ge mind?
Titus ends with his prosaic attack on sackings on the grounds of tribalism knowing very well the sackings and replacements by Ernest Koroma. Is he implying that what is sauce for the goose is not sauce for the gender but for Titus? If there are more of the ilk of Titus Boye-Thompson the APC would have hit upon a Tolongbo path.
