RSLAF Officer Remanded Over Alleged Motorbike Theft

Fifty-one-year-old RSLAF 18179247 Mohamed Kanneh, a military officer, has been sent to the Male Correctional Facility at Pademba Road by Magistrate Mustapha Braima Jah of Pademba Road Court No. 1 in Freetown for alleged motorbike theft.

He was standing before the principal court on one-count charge of larceny contrary to Section 2 of the Larceny Act 1916.

According to the particulars of offence, on Tuesday 13th January 2026 at Gaza Check Point, Hillside Bye-pass Road in the Western Area of Freetown, the accused allegedly stole one HLX motorbike with registration number AZH 536, valued at twenty-eight thousand Leones (Le28,000), property of Joseph Kabba, while it was in the custody of Mohamed Dumbuya.

When the charge was read and explained to the defendant, he pleaded not guilty.

The prosecutor, C.S.P. Tommy B. Zizer Esq., served the defendant with the bundle of statements, which the accused acknowledged receiving.

He was not legally represented in court

Meanwhile, Magistrate Mustapha Braima Jah  ordered that the defendant be remanded at the Male Correctional Facility in Freetown.

The matter was adjourned to 20th March 2026 for further hearing.
