Scene Of Crime Officer Testifies In Burglary Matter

Yesterday Scene of Crime Officer (SOCO), Detective Police Constable 17308, Kadiatua Kamara, attached to  the Criminal Investigation Department (CID), at the Ross Road Police Division in Freetown, testified before Magistrate Alhaji Suliaman Koroma, of the Ross Road Magistrate Court No.1, in the ongoing burglary and larceny matter involving one Henry Conteh, who allegedly broke into the dwelling house of the complainant, Osman Swaray, and stole certain viable properties, valued at two million seven hundred thousand Leones (Le 2,700,000), which properties belong to the complainant.

The incident took place on the 29th August, 2020 at Peacock Farm, in Freetown.

Testifying in court, the police prosecution witness, Kadiatu Kamara, Scene of Crime Officer (SOCO), told the court that, on that fateful day, she was on duty at the Criminal Investigation Department (CID), at the Ross Road Police Division in Freetown, when Detective Sergeant 81743 told her to visit the alleged crime scene at Kanikay in Freetown. She added that, upon her arrival, “I took photographs of the crime with my Techno mobile phone, and I later developed the photos into pictures which I have produced and tendered,” she concluded her evidence.

The police charge sheet adduces that Henry Conteh, on the 29th August, 2020, at Peacock Farm in Freetown, broke into the dwelling house of the complainant, and stole therein certain valuable properties, which are valued at two million seven hundred thousand Leones (Le2,700,000), which are the properties of the complainant.

The accused was refused bail and remanded at the Male Correctional Centre, Pademba Road in Freetown.

The matter will come up again on the 10th December, 2020.
