Sierra Leone has secured a spot at the ACA T20 Cup Finals after Sunday’s 9-wicket win over Cameroon at Willowmoore Park in Benoni, South Africa.
The Patriots played three matches during the ACA Cup Qualifier stage, defeating Mali and Cameroon and losing to Kenya after a good show during the death overs.
Man of the Match in Mali and Cameroon winners Chernor Bah broke a bail in the Cameroon show with a force driven by a Mark Tyson smack.
In that match, Cameroon only scored 35 all out in 8.3 overs before Sierra Leone replied for 37, losing one wicket in 4.2 overs.
The finals, running from 11th to 19th December, will feature 16 matches distributed among eight teams which are divided into two groups.
Sierra Leone will play three matches in the group stage. The first one will be against bull dogs Kenya today, Tuesday before the second one against Botswana on Friday. The Patriots will end the group stage against Ghana next Monday to decide their fate in the semis.
In South Africa, the Patriots are determined to redefine the Lagos action to provoke a good start at 2024.
