The Sierra Leone Association of Commercial Banks (SLACB) in an extraordinary meeting held on Tuesday 4 February, 2025 has appointed Mr. Mohammed A. Samoura Managing Directed of the United Bank for Africa-Sierra Leone as President and Chairman of the Board and also elected Mr. Udeme Udoh, Managing Director of First Bank-Sierra Leone as its Vice President and Deputy Chairman of the Board.
The Sierra Leone Association of Commercial Banks (SLACB) is a non-profit incorporated association that provides a forum for member banks to work together on a co-operative basis.
This association is funded by member banks through subscriptions and membership is open to any bank registered under the Banking Act, 2019.
There are currently thirteen (13) registered banks which includes Sierra Leone Commercial Bank, Rokel Commercial Bank, Guaranty Trust Bank, Sierra Leone First Bank, Sierra Leone Bloom Bank for Africa, Sierra Leone United Bank For Africa, Bank of Sierra Leone, Union Trust Bank, Vista Bank Sierra Leone, Zenith Bank Sierra Leone, Eco Bank Sierra Leone, Sky Bank Sierra Leone, Access Bank Sierra Leone and Commerce Mortgage Bank and Public Limited Liability Company Sierra Leone (PLC).
The board is the governing body of the association, and it comprises of the Managing Director of each member bank.
The operations of the association are conducted at a secretariat located at the 6th floor suites of 35A Lightfoot Boston Street. Ms. Shola Taylor-Pearce serves as Head of Secretariat.
