SLFA Commences Disbursement Of Fifa Covid-19 Relief Funds

The Sierra Leone Football Association on Wednesday September 2 2020 commenced the disbursement of the 1st tranche of the FIFA COVID-19 Relief Funds to various bodies within the country’s football family.

FIFA had sent $500,000 (50%) being the first tranche of the one million dollars ($1,000,000) recently approved as COVID-19 Relief Funds for each Member Association. The second half ($500,000) is expected to be paid early next year.

The notification on the said disbursement, addressed to Chairmen and Secretaries is as follows:-

A total of $450, 000 was disbursed to the following members of the football family: League Clubs: 14 Premier League Clubs ($140,000), Regional Football Associations: 5 Regional Football Associations ($100,000), District Football Associations: 16 District Football Associations ($100,000), Other Football Associations: Coaches Association ($15,000), Referees Association ($15,000) and Retired Football Heroes ($20,000), Wider Football Community: Match Commissioners ($5,000), Match Venues and Security ($5,000), Media Capacity for Sport Journalists ($3,000), Sport Medicines ($5,000), Amputee Football ($3,000), Deaf and Dumb Football ($5,000), Beach Football Teams ($4,000), Football for Peace Project ($30,000).
