SLPP UNITE! -CHIEF BRIMA SWARRAY PLEADS

Chief Ibrahim Brima Swarray

At a time when Sierra Leone is striving for stronger national cohesion, renewed hope, and inclusive development, Chief Ibrahim Brima Swarray has called for a new model of leadership grounded in unity, discipline, and collective progress both within the Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP) and across the country.

Speaking during a recent engagement with party stakeholders, Chief Swarray emphasized that, following the notable achievements of the government led by Julius Maada Bio, the SLPP must now consolidate its gains through strengthened internal unity and a renewed commitment to national cohesion. He noted that a united party remains essential not only for its own stability but also for sustaining the broader transformation and development of the nation.

Central to his message is a philosophy he describes as “Leadership of Integrity, Action, and Compassion,” anchored in his guiding principle: “Leading with Integrity. Acting with Purpose. Serving the Nation Always.” He explained that effective leadership must prioritize both party unity and national interest in every decision.

According to Chief Swarray, unity within the SLPP is critical for maintaining peace, stability, and development in Sierra Leone. He stressed the need for a collaborative and inclusive leadership approach, one that ensures all party members feel valued, heard, and empowered to contribute meaningfully to national progress.

He further outlined his commitment to strengthening mid-level manpower development and improving the social wellbeing of citizens. Sustainable development, he argued, can only be achieved in a peaceful and united environment where citizens are empowered and institutions are robust.

Looking ahead to the 2028 internal party convention, Chief Swarray made a strong appeal for unity among aspirants and stakeholders, urging them to place the survival and strength of the SLPP above individual political ambitions. He cautioned that history has repeatedly shown how internal divisions can weaken the party’s ability to retain power and effectively deliver development.

Reaffirming his belief in divine sovereignty, he stated that power ultimately comes from God, and called on political actors to demonstrate humility, responsibility, and discipline. He reminded participants that unity has long been the foundation of the SLPP’s success and warned against actions that could undermine the party’s cohesion.

Chief Swarray also acknowledged the developmental strides recorded under President Bio’s leadership, emphasizing that protecting these gains requires sustained unity, discipline, and collective commitment within the party.

In conclusion, he reaffirmed his vision of a strong and united SLPP working in harmony with a cohesive Sierra Leone where party strength, national unity, and people-centered development form the bedrock of lasting transformation.
