Stalled Kenema Stadium Artificial Turf Project Starts in 2 Weeks -SLFA Prexy

Residents and football lovers in Kenema Eastern Region will have to wait for another two weeks to have what SLFA President Madam Isha Johansen has described as the most sophisticated Artificial Turf in the sub region.
The issue around having an artificial turf in Kenema rugged town field has lingers on for the past two year now.
The issue came to the limelight when the General Manager of Bollore Transport Logistics, Kokan Fabjanko announced to the press that his institution is giving a 100, 000 USD waivers to the Kenema Football Association to enable them clear containers having the Association’s artificial turf.
He noted that the request was made to Bollore through the Hon Minister of Transport and the Office of the Chief Minister.
Since then the consignment has been at Kenema only waiting for an overseas based company to officially construct the Artificial Turf for the people of Kenema.
President SLFA Madam Isha Johansen officially over the weekend while attending the SLFA Congress in Kenema announced to the surprise of many footballs fans in Kenema that the long awaited artificial turf will now be constructed in two weeks time at the Kenema Town Field.
The SLFA Prexy had clearly indicated that the construction was delayed as a result of indifferences between her and the Chief Minister which according to her has now been settled.
There were mixed feelings at Kenema when the SLFA Prexy announced that the Artificial Turf would be ready in the next two weeks.
Some have attributed the remarks by the SLFA Prexy as only playing to the conscience of the Kenema delegates.
Residents have complained that their field is in a very bad shape and something should be done to get the stalled project started very soon.
The Chief Minister a native son of Kenema has been continuously associated with the development aspirations of Kenema but such developments under his watch or influence have been most times delayed to the annoyance of many residents.
The other day the Chief Minister was quoted to have promised the delivery of a Bus to the Kambui Eagles Football team of Kenema.
Football loving fans and many people interested in the development of the team had to wait for almost a year for the Chief Minister to deliver on his promise.
Unconfirmed reports have intimated this medium that even when the bus has finally arrived there are huge concerns around the quality of the bus.
How will a man who is suppose to push for development in Kenema is now a contributing factor to the District not having what it deserves on time?
